Long-time Edgartown resident, Robert (Pop) Fresher, a veteran father and grandfather, is welcoming his first great-grandchild to his Island home. Nora Joan Page, born June 1 and named after her grandmother and great-grandmother, will meet her extensive and extended family for the first time starting in early August.

Nora Joan, toted by her smitten parents, Margaret Leigh Samways and Jason Page, will arrive from their London, England home to be met by an enthusiastic crowd. Leading the marathon of holding/hugging and cajoling/cuddling will be her grandparents, Kathleen and John Samways of Edgartown and JoKatherine Holliman Page and Jerome Page of Colorado.

Nora might be released from the clutches of the grandparents to allow limited time for the rest of the family to have a squeeze. Those in line be Nora’s new uncle, Hank Lewis III; the Mundy cousins, Taylor, Nina and Hughes, and a long and rowdy line of great-aunts/uncles and great-cousins. Heading that brigade is Margaret (Aunt Peg) Samways (one of her mother’s namesakes) from Bangor, Maine, followed closely by the Freshers: Bruce, Brian, Allie, Sam, Molly, Brad, Tommy, Danny, Craig, Nanette and Claire, and the Flahertys, Tia, Ed, Eamonn and Abaigh. Welcome Nora!
