Now this is my kind of weather. Cool at nights so you can sleep without everything sticking to you. Then warm enough to enjoy outside but a nice breeze to keep it comfortable.

Happy birthday to all who celebrated their day this past week.

Special birthday wishes go out to Floyd Norton and Pam Dolby who celebrated their day August 6.

Well the Island is all abuzz with the President here. There are pictures on Facebook of the President golfing and at another establishment I did not recognize. I don’t think Edgartown is very bothered with his presence as he seems to stay up-Island or go into Oak Bluffs after some golf.

However, I did get a chance to see the First Lady as she walked on the bike path from town towards the post office. Her guards asked us to respect her privacy while she was on vacation and not take pictures, but I did get to speak to her and tell her to have a nice vacation.

Some people say they could care less if they see them. I don’t go looking for them but if the opportunity arrives, I will try to see them. After all, how many times do you get to see the President of the United States or his wife in your lifetime?

Sally Henley Aranjo was on the Island for a short time for a family reunion. While here she was able to catch up with classmate Barbara Phillips and her friend Beth Erickson, whom she worked with for many years at the court house.

Kraig and Ashley Mundt celebrated their first anniversary in June but Ashley’s paper gift to Kraig was tickets to the Zac Brown Band at Fenway Park this past weekend.

Ryan Mundt and his wife Michelle came up to join in the celebration as did Sharon Spinney and Heather Spinney, Ashley’s mom and sister. By the pictures it looks like a good time was had by all.

It does not seem possible but the college kids are starting to leave as they have to be back to classes in the next few weeks.

Have a great week and keep the home candles burning.
