Okay, so people are asking me if I am satisfied now that we got the well needed rain. So I say yes, and as my friend Jan Norton always says, “The ponds are full, now winter can come.”
However, listening to the weather reports, it is going to be in the 60s for the next week so winter won’t be here to soon.
Happy birthday to all who celebrated their day this past week. Big balloons go out to Julia Gomes who celebrated Oct. 4; Jackson Burgoyne on Oct. 5; Jayden Coyle, Jordan Coyle and Rayssa Moraes on Oct. 6; Joey Bettencourt and Taylor Blair on Oct. 7; Olivia Lively and Marcos Rodrigues on Oct. 8; and to Nazare McIntosh who celebrates his day today Oct. 9.
Special birthday wishes go out to Karen Sawyer who celebrated a milestone birthday on Oct. 5. Jan and Floyd Norton turned what used to be a horse barn into a cute guest house for their daughter and son and their spouses when they come to the Island. So they have been busy. Their son Stuart was here for two months, helping his dad around the property. The thing he loved the best was the riding mower. He mowed all the property plus the field and the side of the house. Jan said as a child he loved to ride on the neighbor’s mower so he just never got it out of his system.
Stuart’s wife Cathy joined him a few weeks later with their little dog Billy Bob Norton. Cathy got some quiet time in for some writing she was doing. They headed home to Bloomington, Ind. just before all the rain and wind.
Now they are waiting for the arrival of their daughter Debbie and son in law Bill. So the guest house is getting used a lot and things are getting done around the property.

Matt and Karen Rogers Coyne were here this weekend for the baptism of their son Maverick. The baptism was performed at the Federated Church by Rev. Amy Edwards, with his godmother Sara Smestad and godfather Glenn Mosier beside them.
Maverick’s grandmother Sandy Alestra was proud as she was baptized in the same church 61 years before. Congratulation s to all.
Have a great week and keep the home candles burning.
