A Mashpee man was arraigned last week in Edgartown district court on charges including statutory rape.

Gregory Mooney, 20, was arraigned Oct. 16 on two counts of statutory rape and one count of reckless endangerment of a child. The charges date from May 20 to May 23.

In May, Mr. Mooney allegedly traveled to Connecticut with a 15-year-old Island girl, prompting an Edgartown police investigation that covered three states and involved numerous police agencies. Mr. Mooney and the girl were located in Wallingford, Conn. and taken into custody.

Bail was set at $10,000 and a probable cause/pretrial hearing scheduled for Nov. 5.
