Eleven swimmers from the YMCA Makos competed at Pentathlon swim meet on Nantucket on Oct. 24.
Evan Sauter, Lia Potter, Renee Goodale, Gabby Carr, Annabelle Brothers, Robert Goodale, Ben Yancey, Christian Flanders, Asher Gates, Sara Goodale and Andrue Carr were accompanied by their coach Rainy Goodale.
Pentathlon requires swimmers to swim all four strokes for 50 yards (12 and under) or 100 yards (13 and over) and a combination of all four strokes in 100 yards (12 and under) or 200 yards (13 and over).
Annabelle Brothers, 10, and Gabby Carr, 12, placed first after winning at least three out of five events. Christian Flanders, 10, Robert Goodale, 12, Renee Goodale, 16 and Evan Sauter, 15, placed third. Lia Potter, 16, placed fourth, Ben Yancey, 10, placed seventh and Andrue Carr, 9, placed eighth in their respective age groups.
The next meet is on Nov. 15 at Percy Walker Pool in Quincy.
