This year’s All Cape and Islands Music Festival will feature 23 student musicians from Martha’s Vineyard High School.
Seniors Penelope Dutton, Jared Livingston, Dustin McCord, Helen (Delilah) Meegan, Darby Patterson and Lucy Dougherty Soares, juniors Barbara De Paula, Ben Nadelstein, Pia Ohlsen, and Kasey Stevenson, sophomores Samantha Cassidy, Angela Hayes, Debora Soares, and Alex Vasiliodis, and freshmen Kazara Aldeborgh, Isis Burt, Abby Glaeser, Victoria Miranda, Mary Morgan, Katie Morse, James (Dougie) Norton, Mia Pagliccia, and Taylor Rogers.
The students were chosen at a Nov. 18 audition. After two days of rehearsals, they will sing in either the four-part mixed chorus or treble choir at the festival, which takes place the first weekend in February at Barnstable High School
Seniors Jared Livingston, Lucie Dougherty Soares, and Penelope Dutton, juniors Liam Weiland and Ben Nadelstein, and freshman Victoria Scott will represent the high school at the Massachustts Music Educators Association Southeastern District Music Festival at Bridgewater State College in January. After an audition Nov. 21, three of the students were chosen to audition for the All State Festival.
On Dec. 5, seventh grade violinists Eric Reuben and Menasha Leport, successfully auditioned for the Southeastern District Junior Festival scheduled for March.
