The Martha’s Vineyard Land Bank reported revenues of $233,921.12 for the business week ending on Friday, Dec. 11, 2015. The land bank receives its funds from a two per cent fee charged on many Vineyard real estate transactions.

Much of the land bank revenue last week came from the town of Oak Bluffs, where six transactions resulted in $92,640. Five transactions in Edgartown generated $36,024.60. One transaction earned $31,500 in Aquinnah. Two transactions earned $28,930 in West Tisbury. Two transactions generated $28,260 in Tisbury. And one transaction resulted in $16,566.52 in Chilmark.

The land bank uses its revenues to purchase and manage land for purposes of conservation, preservation and passive recreation. To date the agency has participated in the purchase of more than 3,243 acres of Vineyard land.
