Well unlike last year February was the third warmest month since record keeping began in 1882. We did have two decent size snowstorms, rain, wind, and a real cold blast but that was it. The month of March came in like a lamb, so according to the old saying March will leave like a lion. We certainly hope not, after all the groundhog did see his shadow. Spring is two weeks away and we turn our clocks ahead next weekend. The daffodils have sprouted, another sure sign of spring.

The Old Parsonage Farmhouse has been jacked further up in the air. Richard Olsen completed digging out a full cellar last week and we all await the next phase of restoration of a landmark. The original part of the house was built by Josiah Standish.

The poll hours will be extended this year from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. The last day to register to vote in the annual town meeting is March 23 and the elections March 25. The town meeting will be held on April 12 and the election two days later.
