Veterans Discount Martha’s Vineyard Community Services has announced the All Island Veterans Discount Card program, an initiative of Community Services’ Veterans Outreach Program, Dukes County Veterans Services, and local Island businesses.

The program is designed to recognize and thank the Island’s veterans, reservists, and individuals serving on active duty, which together number more than 500, by offering discounts at participating Island merchants. Ten per cent is the recommended discount.

Veterans will be issued an identification card after verification by Dukes County director of veterans services Jo Ann Murphy.

Island veterans interested in signing up for a card can visit Community Services administration (building B) between 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Friday, or call 508-693-2900, extension 223 to make an appointment. Veterans are asked to bring their driver’s license and DD-214 form to verify their status.

Island businesses interested in participating in the program can visit mvcommunityservices.com/veterans/idcard.
