What a weekend of New England weather. We had so many predictions of how much snow we were going to get. I heard one weatherman actually say we would get two to 14 inches of snow. Now that was covering all the bases. However, we really got nothing to brag about except for the morning flurries.

Happy birthday to all who celebrated their day this past week. Big balloons go out to Rachel Fish, who celebrated her day March 19; Mackenzie Duart, March 20; Jack Chronister, March 22; Colleen Carroll, March 24; Henry D’Andrea, Franklyn Schoenberg, March 25; and to Bryan Marcal who celebrates his day Friday March 26.

Special birthday wishes go out to Caleb Lucier who celebrated his second birthday on March 19. His grandfather Mark Lucier is excited waiting for him to be on the high school football team. Caleb had a great birthday party with some great presents, but his big present will come at the end of April when he gets a new baby brother.

The League of Women Voters of Martha’s Vineyard is holding a candidate forum on Tuesday, March 29 in the new Edgartown Library at 6:30 p.m. Come and meet your town’s candidates for election and ask them questions of interest to you. The financial committee and selectmen have also been invited to speak to warrant articles that are important.

Barbara Magnuson Phillips, Marsha Valentza and Donna Montesion are enjoying a week in Puerto Rico. These ladies are just three of the group of women who a few years ago started traveling their dream trips on their 60th birthday. Now three years later they are still at it. Good for them. They have been enjoying the warm sun, great touring and lots of local cuisine thanks to friend Jebby Bates, another classmate who lives there, to show them around and take them to all the secret places.

I hope you all have a great Easter. Hope you can spend some time with family or friends.

Have a great week and keep the home candles burning.
