Four M.V. United travel teams took to the pitch on a soggy, rainy Saturday last week. One team played at home while the other three played away.

The U-13 boys opened their season with a decisive 6-1 win over Sandwich. Nick Cowan, Lucas Reis, Christopher DaSilva and Eli Saunier all had goals, while Joshua Dix had two.

The U-14 boys beat Mariner 4-0. Goalie Adam Knight had the shutout after an all-team effort that included goals by Emanuel Silva and Morgan Estrella and assists by Ben Taylor and Jack Holmes.

The U-11 boys beat Seekonk 3-1. Goals were scored by Ryan Koster, Darien Kral and Luke Yuhas.

The U-14 girls fell to Oceana 5-0.

The U-11 girls traveled to Mashpee and got off the bus to find their game had been cancelled. The U-10 boys and U-18 boys both had their Sunday matches postponed due to the weather.

Three home games are on the schedule for this coming weekend, all on Saturday. The U-13 boys play Dartmouth at 11:15 a.m. The U-11 girls play Norton at 1:30 p.m. And the U-14 girls play Dennis-Yarmouth at 3 p.m. All games are played at Veterans Field in Vineyard Haven.
