Get a jump on spring flowers at Polly Hill Arboretum with two upcoming events.

On Friday, April 15 and again on Saturday, April 16 a hands-on workshop will offer instruction on creating a summer blooming bulb garden. Brent Heath from Brent and Becky’s Bulbs will teach methods of creating a forced bulb container, including choosing the right bulb cultivars for window boxes, layered planters or individually-potted bulbs. Workshops take place April 15 from 1 to 3 p.m. and April 16 from 10 a.m. to noon. The cost is $55 ($45 for Polly Hill members) with bulbs and supplies included; space is limited and pre-registration required.

On April 16 daffodils are the star of the show at Polly Hill at the daffodil show and spring flower walk. The family-oriented event includes a daffodil showcase in the Far Barn with dozens of daffodil varieties, arts and crafts for children, and a 10 a.m. guided tour to see what is in bloom at the arboretum.
