It’s been another successful week at the shelter. Stray black kitten Eloise has gone to her new home. And it was love at first sight. Congratulations Eloise, whose name is now Kate.
Lyle, the five-year-old indoor/outdoor tuxedo cat, is still looking for his new home. His hunting skills would make him perfect for a farm. And as a bonus he is very affection and purrs constantly. Max, the 15-month-old Labrador retriever/hound mix is still looking for a home. He is well trained, affectionate and good with other dogs and cats, but is fearful of young children. He is staying with his family until a new home can be found so please contact the shelter if you would like to meet this boy.
Thank you to the Animal Rescue League of Boston’s spay/neuter wagon, who visited the shelter this week. While here they spayed or neutered six dogs and five cats. If you would like to put your name on the list for their next visit in May contact your animal control officer.
Shelter hours are Tuesdays and Wednesdays, 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Thursdays and Fridays, 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and Saturdays, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The shelter is closed Sunday and Monday. The telephone number is 508-627-8662.
Contributions are always gratefully accepted; the shelter is funded solely by donations. Please make checks out to The Animal Shelter of Martha’s Vineyard; the mailing address is P.O. Box 1829, Edgartown, MA 02539 or visit animalshelterofmv.org.
