Martha’s Vineyard Museum will host PechaKucha Night on Friday, April 29 at 7:30 p.m. at the Harbor View Hotel in the Menemsha Room. Free and open to all. PechaKucha was devised in Japan in 2003 as an event for young designers to network. Drawing its name from the Japanese term for “chit chat,” it rests on a simple presentation format: show 20 images for 20 seconds each. It’s a format that makes presentations concise, and keeps things moving at a rapid pace. This will be the final PechaKucha for the spring season — to return in October.

Carolyn Feltz and her husband Jerry Wiener have returned from a trip to New Jersey to visit with family and friends. Her sister Agnes has returned for a brief visit.

Mike and Carol Mayrand have returned from their extended winter vacation. On their way home, Mike and his friend Bud Raymond of Tisbury attended the Masters. They had a great time. The weather was spectacular. Mike enjoyed walking the course, seeing all the famous holes, and eating pimento sandwiches. He was excited to see a lot of his favorite golfers as well as Arnold Palmer. A wonderful way to end your vacation.

Jenna Petersiel has arrived for the summer, preparing to open the Chilmark Tavern for another season. We always know when Jenna has arrived as her curly-haired canine companion Marley takes a spin in our yard, romping around the house. This year he was met by Rhett (who lives up to his name in many ways). It should be an interesting summer with these two furry canines.
