The Martha’s Vineyard Land Bank reported revenues of $245,890 for the business week ending on Friday, April 15, 2016. The land bank receives its funds from a two per cent fee charged on many Vineyard real estate transactions.

Much of the land bank revenue last week came from the town of Oak Bluffs, where nine transactions resulted in $90,850. One transaction in Chilmark generated $90,820. Three transactions earned $36,290 in West Tisbury. One transaction earned $14,000 in Aquinnah. Two transactions generated $7,880 in Tisbury. And two transactions earned $6,050 in Edgartown.

The land bank uses its revenues to purchase and manage land for purposes of conservation, preservation and passive recreation. To date the agency has participated in the purchase of more than 3,243 acres of Vineyard land.
