Kitten season has arrived and kittens are everywhere at the shelter. We currently have two litters totaling 11 kittens growing up with us. The first litter is five weeks old and consists of four males and one female. Lone sister Angie is black with a white tummy. Her brothers are Frankie, a long hair tuxedo; Johnnie, an orange long hair; Finn, an orange short hair; and orange and white Joey.

The second litter is only two weeks old and consists of four females and two males. The boys are all black Smudge and all gray Asher. Their sisters are gray Dusty, gray and white Dorie, tuxedo Francie, and the white girl with black spots is Dotty, who will be going home with her mom. Please contact the shelter to have your name put on the kitten list if you are interested in any of these babies. You will be contacted when they are old enough to go their forever homes.

Tempe is a lovely seven-year-old lab and hound mix looking for a new home. She has a gentle disposition and gets along well with dogs, cats and children. If you think you might be interested in this girl please contact the shelter since she will be staying with her family until a new home can be found.

Lyle, the five year old indoor/outdoor tuxedo cat is still looking for his new home. His hunting skills would make him perfect for a farm. And as a bonus he is very affectionate and purrs constantly. He is spending time in the cat room with the old orange gentleman Milo.

Tom Shelby, the dog charmer, will be giving a talk at the shelter on Saturday, April 30 at 11 a.m. on training particulars with your new dog. Dogs are welcome to attend with their families but will need to be leashed. Hope to see you then.

The shelter would like to remind all pet owners that now that spring is here, so are the fleas and ticks. Make sure to stay current with your preventative measure of choice.
