A perfect season for the girls’ tennis team got even more perfect on Saturday when Victoria Scott and Lizzie Williamson became the MIAA state doubles champions — a first for the Vineyard.

Scott and Williamson played their seminfinal and final matches in Shrewsbury on Saturday. They won the semifinals against Monument Mountain 6-1,6-0. Then they faced Winchester in a tough final match, going three sets, 5-7, 6-3 and 6-4.

Led by head coach Nina Bramhall and assistant coach Liz Roberts, the regional high school girls’ tennis team won the state championship for a second straight year last week. The team ended its season with a 21-0 record.

Scott and Williamson’s record is 29-0.
