Tisbury will host a family shellfishing day on June 25 from 9 a.m. to noon.

With the help of the town visioning council, shellfish constable Danielle Ewart has organized a day of free activities from demonstrations to introduce people to shellfishing.

The spot to go is at Lagoon Pond behind Wind’s Up where a new recreational shellfishing area was recently established. Rake for quahaugs, learn about sea creatures and use peep boxes to peer underwater. No permits are required for the event.

Participants are advised to wear water shoes and sunscreen.

Registration is available on the town website.
