The Portuguese Holy Ghost Feast and Festival starts at 5 p.m. on Saturday, July 16, with a big barbecue party at the Portuguese-American Club, 137 Vineyard Avenue, Oak Bluffs. There will be music, games, kids' games, and a deejay.
On Sunday, July 17, starting at 11 a.m. the parade sets off from the Oak Bluffs Steamship Authority dock and heads up to the P.A. Club, where the party and sopa eating continues throughout the day.
The Feast of the Holy Ghost, a celebration steeped in tradition, celebrates Queen Isabella of Aragon.
