Two adoptions took place this week. Rosie the poodle/beagle mix has found her new forever home, where she will be wintering in New York city. And orange cat Mason was also adopted into a wonderful family. He has been renamed Oliver. Congratulation to everyone.

Our newest arrival is a potentially feral tabby and white male cat we are calling Will Feral. Will Feral is approximately a year old and was found in the vicinity of Pennywise Path in Edgartown. We’re not certain if this cat is actually feral due to his loving nature and big purr. Come by to see if this sweetheart is your heart’s desire.

Eight-year-old orange and white boy Dulce and his four-year-old buff and white colored housemate Lefty are still holding court in the cat room along with three-year-old black and gray tabby Cody. These are all large boys and sweet and affectionate as could be. They would be great additions to any family. Our other orange resident is Chappy, who is grieving the loss of his owner, so it has been difficult to assess his temperament. He is slowly coming out of his shell and enjoys petting.

Our long-haired seven-year-old tortoiseshell cat, Precious, is coming out of her shell more and more. Please come meet her and see if she could be the cat of your dreams, or even just visit and help with her socialization. Year-old calico mama Colleen has completed her socialization and become a real love. She is petite and very pretty, with black lined eyes like Cleopatra.

The three kittens that arrived recently are being socialized in preparation for going to their forever homes. Tortoiseshell females Ru and Tinkerbell are approximately seven to eight weeks old, and Ru is a bobtail. Keeping company with the girls is 12-week old orange and white male kitten Memphis. We also have 12-week-old male tuxedo kitten Alabama, who is very friendly and affectionate.

On the dog front is Ru, a six-year-old male foxhound who is good with children and dogs. He will stay with his family until a new home can be found. Another dog available for adoption is Tempe. She is a seven-year-old black Labrador retriever/hound mix, good with children and cats. She will also be staying with her family until a new home can be found. Please contact the shelter to arrange a meeting with either of these dogs.

Kyra, our amazing three-year-old Native American shepherd dog is still waiting for that special person or family to come and find her. She needs a gentle, loving home with consistency.

Shelter hours are Tuesdays and Wednesdays, 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Thursdays and Fridays, 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and Saturdays, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The shelter is closed Sunday and Monday. The telephone number is 508-627-8662.
