The 11th annual Martha’s Vineyard International Film Festival arrives on Sept. 6 and continues through Sept. 11 with a full slate of movies and events at the Film Center in Vineyard Haven and the Capawock Theatre. The opening gala is Thursday, Sept. 8 at 5:30 p.m. and includes a screening of the Japanese film Our Little Sister, directed by Hirokazu Koreeda.

This year’s festival will honor actress and humanitarian Sharon Stone with the Martha’s Vineyard Film Society Global Citizen Award, which will be presented to Ms. Stone on Friday, Sept. 9 at 7 p.m. before the screening of the French film, Fatima, directed by Philippe Faucon.
