More adoptions are happening. Tempe, the foxhound/lab mix, has found a wonderful new home on a farm, and the two tuxedo kittens, Dee Dee and JJ, have gone to a home together. We wish many years of happiness to everyone.

The cat room is filled with orange males. Eight-year-old Chappy has moved out of the cat condo and joined everyone in the cat room. He’s becoming more and more accepting of attention and will blossom once he finds his forever home. Four-year-old buff and white Lefty can’t wait to find a family to share his love with, he’s an awesome cat and quite a handsome big boy. And last but not least, our year-old Chilmark stray, Albert, is an absolutely wonderful cat who would be a great addition to any home

Our year-old petite calico girl, Colleen, is keeping an eye on the boys from her high perch. She is a real sweetheart, and very pretty with her black-rimmed eyes. Come meet this sweet girl and see if you can find a place in your heart for her.

Three-year-old black and gray tabby Cody is spending his time in the lobby greeting visitors while hoping someone will come for him. He is also a large boy, friendly and loves spending his time with people.

Kyra, the three-year-old Native American shepherd, is still with us. Everyone comments on her beauty, and how sweet she is. She is a large breed, weighing approximately 50 pounds, very smart and responsive to gentle training. She will do best in a home with a large, fenced yard, and a family who can spend time with her, showering her with the love she deserves.

The Animal Rescue League of Boston’s Spay/Neuter Wagon will be at the shelter on Wednesday, Sept. 21. If you would like to have your dog or cat spayed or neutered please contact your local animal control officer.

We would like to remind everyone that though you mean well please do not feed what you assume to be stray cats. Most of these cats have homes and feeding them can prevent them from returning to their homes.
