Susan Dickler of West Tisbury and New York city has been elected the new chairman of the board of the Ms. Foundation for Women.

Ms. Dickler is a longtime advocate for women and girls. She will now lead the 14-person board that offers guidance and oversight for the foundation.

She joined the Ms. Foundation in 1979 as director of the Reproductive Rights and Health Program. She has also held positions at the Planned Parenthood Federation of America, Planned Parenthood of NYC, and Voters for Choice.
