The shelter is happy to report another adoption. Our lovely little calico, Colleen, has gone to a family that just adores her. Since she is a youngster we know that many happy years are ahead for everyone.

The cat room is filled primarily with orange males. Eight-year-old Chappy is becoming more and more accepting of attention and has started playing with the volunteers. We know he will blossom once he finds his forever home. Four-year-old buff and white Lefty can’t wait to find a family to share his love with. He’s an awesome cat, very handsome and quite a big boy. And the year-old stray from Chilmark, Albert, is an absolutely wonderful cat that would be a great addition to any home. Just joining the orange male crew is three-year-old buff and white ZZ. He is very sweet, but still a bit shy.

Two females have joined the boys in the cat room to keep the testosterone level at bay. They are three-year-old Doris, a delightful tortoiseshell who is quite friendly, and Lacey, a very pretty eight-year-old calico who is also sweet as can be. Come meet the crew to see if any of them can fulfill your life.

Three-year-old black and gray tabby Cody is still spending his time in the lobby greeting visitors, while hoping someone will come for him. He is also a large boy, friendly and loves spending his time with people.

Kyra, the three-year-old Native American shepherd, is still with us. Everyone comments on her beauty and how sweet she is. She is a large girl, weighing approximately 50 pounds, very smart and responsive to gentle training. She will do best in a home with a large, fenced yard, and a family who can spend time with her, showering her with the love she deserves.

The Animal Rescue League of Boston’s spay/neuter wagon will be at the shelter on Wednesday, Sept. 21. If you would like to have your dog or cat spayed or neutered please contact your local animal control officer.
