If the winds of Hermine were inspiring but you are now wondering what to do with all of that swirling energy, well here comes the annual Martha’s Vineyard Wind Festival on Saturday, Sept. 10.

The event is a celebration of all things windy, and not just those that fly in the air. There will be kite flying, frisbee tossing, but also sailboat racing too. The festival is held in Ocean Park in Oak Bluffs, a very wide open and wind-friendly place. For those with a DIY vibe, there will be kite making for children from 10:30 to noon.

The day officially runs from 10:30 until dusk, with a rain date set for Sunday, Sept. 11. There will be prizes in numerous kite categories as well as music throughout the day.
