My friend Janie Anderson resides near Hilton Head Island in South Carolina. Their governor has ordered evacuations of 1.1 million people. Where would they all go? Stay safe.

Ten-year-old Laina Benoit and her parents Jim and Nancy enjoyed entertaining their guests Jacqui Trainer and her daughter Roma recently for a weekend. They participated in many activities across the Island. Laina and Roma are definitely sisters in many ways. They all had a great time and plan on making this an annual event.

Sincerest condolences to the family and friends of Barbara Dahill Harnen. Barbara was a former member of the board of the Martha’s Vineyard Center for Living, where she shared her many talents and love for the Vineyard.

Sincerest condolences to the family and friends of Marvin Kendrick M.D., who died on Sept. 26. Marty, as most of us knew him, dedicated his life to his family and his many patients. He was a much admired cardiologist at Emerson Hospital in Concord. We stumbled around the same halls of Pratt and Farnsworth in the 1960s while he was a student at Tufts Medical School. We laughed about the Thursday afternoon rounds at Posner Hall for the students and staff. Marty, his wife Kathy, and their family enjoyed their home just down the road on Pancake Hill. He will be missed by many.
