'Tis the season when big orange pumpkins take over the Morning Glory farmstand. There are so many that last week farm workers used hundreds of pumpkins to spell out GO SOX! in the field.

Consider that a warm-up for the farm’s annual pumpkin festival, which takes place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 15.

The festival will offer hay rides, face painting, a hay maze, pumpkin bowling and other activities. Take a turn at the apple cider press and watch the farm’s trebuchet launch pumpkins across the fields.

Pumpkin carving and painting will be available for $2, and lunch featuring farm favorites—and probably a few pumpkin-flavored treats —will be for sale.

Morning Glory Farm is located at 290 Edgartown-West Tisbury Road. For more information visit morninggloryfarm.com.
