The Martha’s Vineyard Land Bank reported revenues of $401,355.76 for the business week ending on Friday, Oct. 14, 2016. The land bank receives its funds from a two per cent fee charged on many Vineyard real estate transactions.

Much of the land bank revenue last week came from the town of Edgartown, where 10 transactions resulted in $217,111.76. Two transactions earned $102,520 in Chilmark. Three transactions earned $36,314 in Oak Bluffs. Two transactions earned $21,800 in Aquinnah. Two transactions resulted in $15,960 in Tisbury. And one transaction earned $7,650 in West Tisbury.

The land bank uses its revenues to purchase and manage land for purposes of conservation, preservation and passive recreation. To date the agency has participated in the purchase of more than 3,243 acres of Vineyard land.
