In response to the national election results, a new group on the Island called We Stand Together is holding an event at Waban Park in Oak Bluffs on Saturday, Nov. 19, beginning at 3 p.m. The group’s statement of purpose is to pledge support for the values of inclusion and tolerance. It is asking people to bring a candle or light, and a sign stating what you are willing to defend and protect to help those on the front lines facing hate.

There will be music, face painting, sign painting and more.
