The Edgartown School PTA is launching a shoe collection drive to benefit school activities and people in developing countries.

From Nov. 15 to Jan. 15, the PTA will collect new or gently-worn used shoes at the Edgartown School cafeteria (on the stage). The organization Funds2orgs will then purchase the footwear, with the money going to benefit PTA activities and school events.

The shoes will then be redistributed to Funds2orgs’ network of partners in countries such as Haiti, Honduras, and other nations in Central America and Africa. Budding entrepreneurs sell the shoes, using the proceeds to feed, clothe, and house their families.
