Getting involved in government at the grassroots level is the theme of a 90-minute discussion planned for Saturday, Feb. 4. in West Tisbury.

The talk begins at 10 a.m. and is co-sponsored by the West Tisbury Library and the Martha’s Vineyard League of Women Voters. The talk will cover such basic questions as how to run for office, how to work with a town committee or join one.

Participants will include elected officials and members of appointed committees. There will be plenty of time for audience participation.

Admission is free, and there will be refreshments and child care. The snow date is Saturday, Feb. 11.
