The emergency food and shelter program of FEMA has made $2,700 available for nonprofit agencies providing food and shelter to residents of Dukes County, the agency said in a press release.

Funds will be distributed to agencies capable of providing food and shelter services to low-income residents in the county. Eligible nonprofits must have a 501(c)3 tax status, be eligible to receive federal funds, have an accounting system that includes annual audits, have a policy of nondiscrimination, and have a volunteer board of directors.

Agencies interested in applying should contact Catherine Driscoll at 508-432-1312 or churcheshoh@comcast.net for an application. Agencies who have received funding in the past will receive applications by email.

The deadline for submitting applications is Thursday, Feb. 9.
