Island police officers and firefighters will strap on the skates Saturday, March, 11, for the first annual Ice Hockey Heroes hockey game.

The Guns and Hoses match pits police against firefighters in a benefit game for Martha’s Vineyard Youth Hockey. Entrance is free and food, T-shirts, and raffle tickets will be for sale.

The puck drops at 6 p.m. at the Martha’s Vineyard Ice Arena. But show up early for a chance to check out a fire truck or police cruiser.
