Our buddy Carl, the delightful Rottweiler, is looking better and better as his skin and coat issues continue to improve. This gentle giant is only four years old and is a perfect gentleman who would be a wonderful addition to any home looking for a large dog. Come and meet him and see if you fall in love, which would be very easy with this fabulous dog.
Our newest resident is a stunning long-haired cat named Mr. Fluff. He is nine years young, very sweet and quite large. Having recently lost his owner he would love to find a new forever family.If you’ve always dreamed of having a Maine coon, which he resembles, stop in and meet him to see if love blossoms.
There are currently three female felines living in the cat room. Mary, the year-old tuxedo has been with us the longest. She is petite, with long legs, golden eyes and a typical female tuxedo personality. Could she be your perfect match?
Sweetie is a good sized two-year-old dilute calico that is mostly gray with some pale orange markings on her face and chest that match her golden eyes. She has adjusted to the shelter and is proving to be exactly like her name, a real sweetie.
And one of the most affectionate cats ever to reside here is Tiger Lily. She is only five, tabby and white, and pleasingly plump. This girl adores people, purrs and purrs, and loves to give kisses. She desperately wants someone to love who will love her back just as much. Could that be you?
The two residents who have been here the longest are male cats Lefty and Chaps, both of which are such great guys that they are allowed free range both inside and outside the shelter. Lefty has been here the longest. He is a large buff and white cat who is almost five and very friendly. Is there someone who could make his dream of a forever family come true? Chaps is eleven and has beautiful white and black markings. He’s a mellow guy who is looking for a warm bed and some affection.
Guinea pig Hamlette, aka Mr. Friendly, is still living in the lobby. He is brown and white, and under a year old. As with most guinea pigs he loves attention, especially to be held and pet. He’s not a big fan of fruit, but adores carrots and lettuce. If you have a child begging for a guinea Hamlette is your guy. Please stop in and meet him, if only to visit and give him some attention.
Shelter hours are Tuesdays and Wednesdays, 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Thursdays and Fridays, 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and Saturdays, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The shelter is closed Sunday and Monday. The telephone number is 508-627-8662.
