At this age, it took an entire week of celebration for my milestone birthday. To begin with, another visit to the Martha’s Vineyard Hospital emergency room where I was promptly cared for by longtime nurses Donna Enos and checked on by Helen Green, followed by nurses Joseph, Deborah, James, radiology technician Bruce, practitioner Scott Weissman, and physicians Katherine Stedman and Robert Partridge. All is well that ends well.

Next was the surprise party the day before the big day, a pleasant family day on the 26th, and those members of the crew at USCG Station Menemsha who were unable to attend the surprise party invited me for dinner on Wednesday evening. Thank you to CS1 Mark Seawall for providing dinner with Adam Smith, Meghan Smith, Joseph Belladue, Joshua Brooks, Jesse Cisneros, Samuel Hoppe, Leanna McKenna, Benjamin Renna, Colby Storm, and Adam Struyk. We ended the evening with another birthday cake.

Members of station Menemsha and their Senior Chief Robert Riemer traveled to Cape May, N.J. on their weekend off for mentoring recruit company Golf 194 at their boot camp. They traveled in high winds and rains during the 10-hour journey. Those attending included Senior Chief Riemer, Adam Smith, Joseph Belladue, Joshua Brooks, Jesse Cisneros, Samuel Hoppe, and Benjamin Renna. Hopefully the ride home was more pleasurable.

Congratulations to USCG Leanna McKenna BM3 who completed her coxswain checkride 29 RBS for Coxswain certification on April 3. Quite an accomplishment. Kudos !
