Oak Bluffs will have 12 new recycling bins this summer, thanks to a grant to the town park department from the Coca-Cola/Keep America Beautiful Public Space Recycling Bin Grant Program.
The bins will be placed in various locations around Oak Bluffs, including several town parks, Inkwell Beach, Post Office Square, and the harbor. The program will help boost recycling in town.
The Keep America Beautiful program will provide more than 3,500 recycling bins to colleges and universities along with almost 1,000 bins to governments and nonprofit organizations. Grant recipients were chosen based on their potential to collect the most bottles and cans and the extent of need and recycling experience.
