A super sweet dog is residing at the shelter and hoping that her new forever family will find her sooner rather than later. Sushi, aka Susie, is seven, is a Carolina hound who looks like she might have some shepherd in her. She has a short buck-colored coat with traditional black points, soulful eyes, a calm demeanor in the house, is well trained and gets along with children, dogs and cats. Sushi would be happiest in a home with someone that can spend plenty of time with her and take her along on errands.

The two cats in the cat room are Licorice, a young, totally black female, and Sweetie, a two-year-old dilute calico. Licorice may seem bit shy but adores attention and will definitely make an appearance if you stop petting her. She has a gentle nature and if you’re looking for a lap cat this is your girl. And she purrs constantly. Sweetie loves to play. She has pretty coloring and lovely golden eyes. We believe Sweetie might prefer to be an only cat so she can have all the attention. Stop by and visit, maybe love will blossom.

Lobby cat Chaps is still here as well. He’s an 11-year-old and very mellow, with striking white and black markings. A warm bed and some affection are all he wants. If a special relationship should be formed with Chaps we might allow him to leave us for a new forever home.

And we’d like to thank Tony’s Market for their generous donation of seven bags of cat food.
