Warmer weather each day with temperatures reaching the low 80s over the weekend. Just about everything is in bloom now. A few raindrops during the week but much needed.

Happenings at the Aquinnah Public Library this week include: story time will be held on Saturday, May 27 at 10:30 a.m. From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. will be oil pastels: draw your favorite animal. Tuesday May 30 at 4 p.m. is after-school club.

The next Neighborhood Convention is planned for Tuesday, June 6 at 11 a.m. at the Chilmark Community Church with performers from the Yard. Do not go to the Yard. Same great dancers, different location. All are welcome to attend. Please bring a bag lunch.

Congratulations to Kayla Manning and Dana Darcy on their marriage performed by Justice of Peace John S. Alley on May 20 at Owen Park in Vineyard Haven. Kayla is the daughter of Paul and Theresa Manning and the late Angelena Carroll. Dana is the son of David Darcy and Lisa Duart.

Tobias Vanderhoop returned this past week from a trip to Hawaii. Upon his return he spent the weekend in Chestnut Hill with his great aunt Marjorie Vanderhoop Galbraith and her daughter Polly Galbraith.

Monday is Memorial Day. Be mindful of the significance of the day and remember those no longer with us.

Happy anniversary wishes to Greg Clark and Maureen Williams, who celebrated their 16th anniversary on May 21.

Happy birthday wishes this week to Kayden Keith Devine on May 27, who shares the day with Janice Brown and Dr. Richard Koehler. Nonie Madison will party on May 28 and shares the day with Cora Keegan, Susan Anderson, and Christy Vanderhoop. Nancy Carlton Benoit parties on May 29, sharing the day with Fan Ogilvie. Susie Crowell will party on May 30, sharing the day with Michael Gilman. Roxane Ackerman parties on May 31 as will Jasmine Devine.
