Reverend Susan Sparks is no stranger to Union Chapel or Martha’s Vineyard at large. The former standup comedian returns to the pulpit this Sunday, July 23, for an unprecedented fifth time. Her sermon title is Not Today, Satan.

The trial lawyer turned standup comedian, and now senior pastor of New York City’s Madison Avenue Baptist Church, Rev. Sparks has been described as a cross between Nancy Grace, Joel Osteen and Ellen DeGeneres. She still tours nationally as a professional comedian, with a Rabbi and a Muslim, with the Laugh in Peace Tour.
