The Christina Gallery in Edgartown celebrates its 40th year with a summer-long exhibit by the artists Duane Alt, Sandi Blanda and John C. Traynor. All three joined the gallery 20 years ago, in the spring of 1997. Duane Alt has traveled extensively through France, including both the French and Italian Rivieras. He recently celebrated his 82nd birthday and still spends about six hours a day painting in his studio.

Sandi Blanda is a Long Island native and self-taught folk artist. She uses shells to create contemporary versions of the Victorian-era sailors’ valentines.

John C. Traynor is a nationally-recognized oil painter who lives in southern New Hampshire. He has received over two 200 awards of merit for his work.

Also featured at the gallery this summer are works by Island landscape artist Marjorie Mason and still life and portrait artist Russell Gordon.

The gallery is located on the corner of North Water and Winter streets. For hours and information, visit christina.com.
