Brian Welch was the first place winner and club champion in the Martha’s Vineyard Rod and Gun Club’s 2017 skeet championship held Sunday, August 6.

Mr. Welch broke 49 out of 50 targets to claim the top prize. Bill Damora of Plainfield, N.J. and Harold Lawry of Edgartown were tied for second after breaking 48 out of 50 targets. The two took on the difficult task of shooting doubles to determine the second place finishers, with Mr. Damora coming in second after besting Mr. Lawry, the third-place finisher, by one target.
