The Island Autism Group and Martha’s Vineyard public school district will begin a pilot after school program this fall for ages five through 26.

The parent-cooperative program requires families to provide one parent chaperone for one activity each week. In exchange children can attend the program all five days free of charge. If a parent is unable to provide the day of coverage, they may pay to have their child attend the program. Sliding scale payment plans are available. Each age tier is dependent on full enrollment to be successful.

The program will run Monday through Friday from 3 to 5 p.m. through Dec. 15. The school system will provide transportation to locations and parents are responsible for pick up.

An application can be found at islandautism.org. Applications are due as soon as possible. For more information contact autism group president Kate DeVane at 508-693-2568.
