Shelter manager Lisa Dawley and volunteer cat socializer extraordinaire Missy are heroes after saving the life of a eight-week-old kitten that was at death’s door. Halo was brought into the shelter barely breathing and weighing only 1.25 pounds. Through their knowledge and care they had this little one eating on her own after only a few hours. Nice work, ladies. And Halo should be able to go to a forever home in a few weeks. Stop by and meet her, she’s a very sweet tabby.

Our newest resident is a black bobtail that we believe may be pregnant. Her name is Girl. She’s solid black with striking green eyes and a real doll. She’s only about a year old so has many years left to share her love. Could you be the one?

Our 15-week-old long-haired pewter gray male kitten with stunning green eyes has been neutered and is ready to leave for a forever home. His name is Fred. He loves being held and has turned into quite the purrer. This boy is sure to be a snuggle kitty so if you’re in the market for a love muffin come and meet him.

And the mother and daughter feline pair, Snow and Fran, were adopted together. Good news for all parties. Congratulations to the family that found these lovely girls.

White and black Chaps is our shelter cat. We’re more than happy to have him stay with us but if someone wants to give him a forever home we’d be willing to let him leave for a better life. He’s 12, very mellow, and content to just hang out with you.

A big thank you to Dr. Quimby of the Animal Rescue League of Boston’s spay/neuter wagon and his technicians. While at the shelter on Wednesday, Sept. 13 they spayed or neutered three dogs and 13 cats. They will be here again in October and November so please contact your local animal control officer for more information if you have a pet you would like to have spayed or neutered.
