This is the last week to see Lanny McDowell’s avian photography exhibit at the Martha’s Vineyard Playhouse.

Mr. McDowell spends most of his time outside, stalking, paddling or waiting in one place a very long time to photograph Island birds in their natural environment. The results are stunning, up-close and personal shots of our avian friends.

The exhibit is wide ranging and covers a large portion of the playhouse’s art space, located on the first floor. Since the weather is turning colder, it might be the best place on the Island to pretend you are outdoors frolicking with the birds, while actually sitting snug inside.

The show flies the coop on Thursday, Nov. 16, so now is the time to leave the nest.
