Hello to December and the holiday season. As usual the Shelter will be participating in the Christmas in Edgartown parade on Dec. 9 and we would love to have you and your dog(s) march along with us. Come one, come all and meet us at the Edgartown School parking lot at 10:30 a.m. for the festivities.

Chief is a large, four years old male, Saint Bernard/Australian Shepherd mix who is looking for a new forever home. He’s a large, powerful dog with a strong prey drive who will need an experienced owner and no cats or other small animals in the home. If you think Chief may be the dog for you, please contact the Shelter to arrange a meeting.

Two six weeks old, male, albino bunnies, who have been hand raised, are available for adoption. They are currently living outdoors and would be fine to stay out or become inside pets. They are not being housed at the Shelter but please give us a call if you are interested.

Gal’s three kittens are growing like weeds and will be ready to go to their forever homes in a few weeks. Two are black, one is a bobtail and the other, with a tail, has a few white toes. The third is a tuxedo with adorable facial markings. Gal herself has two adoptions pending and will, hopefully, go to her forever home once she’s been spayed. She is a young, solid black bobtail with beautiful green eyes and a winning personality.

Chaps our Shelter cat is still happily living with us. He’s a lovely, gentle, fellow who just needs a warm and comfy spot to sleep, some good food, and a little loving. He’s white with black markings that give him a fascinating face. He has a forever home here, but if someone should fall in love with him we’d consider your adoption request.

We’d also like to remind dog owners that December is hunting month. When venturing out make sure that your dog is leashed and that you both are dressed in bright orange for your protection.
