Calling all young birders it is time for the Junior Christmas Bird Count. This is a chance for ages eight through teens to get involved in the annual avian adventure to spot and count as many birds as possible during a particular time.The junior count takes place on Saturday, Dec. 16 from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. at Felix Neck. The morning will begin with instruction on how to use binoculars and spotting scopes. Kids will them be split into age groups and led by local birders to locate and observe winged friends in the area.
At 11 a.m. its time to tally up the findings while enjoying some well deserved hot drinks and snacks. There will also be a raffle to give away a pair of binoculars.
