The Martha’s Vineyard Land Bank reported revenues of $194,409.38 for the business week ending on Friday, Dec. 15, 2017. The land bank receives its funds from a two per cent fee charged on many Vineyard real estate transactions.

Much of the land bank revenue last week came from the town of Oak Bluffs, where six transactions resulted in $79,160. Three transactions generated $52,909.38 in Tisbury. One transaction earned $27,250 in Chilmark. Two transactions earned $25,660 in Aquinnah. And Two transactions resulted in $9,430 in Edgartown.

No eligible transactions were recorded in West Tisbury

 

The land bank uses its revenues to purchase and manage land for purposes of conservation, preservation and passive recreation. To date the agency has participated in the purchase of more than 3,243 acres of Vineyard land.
