In this season of sharing and caring, which I think shouldn’t be a season but year-round, I had the most delightful surprise last night. Kristie Mayhew pulled up in front of my house with a merry mix of her best homemade Christmas cookies, brownies and delightful delicacies. Thank you to Kristie, Emma and Jon. I know Kristie turned out an incredible supply of baked goods for her family and friends, all done with the touch of an artist.

Tanita Macy has completed a dream tour of Thailand, the land of her birth. She is winging her way back to the Island to tell us all about it. Brother Noel should be here from Boston this weekend.

The Federated Church in Edgartown would like to invite you to their annual three months of lasagna lunches. The first luncheon will be on Sunday, Jan. 7 at 2 p.m. The program continues every Sunday through March 25. The menu is lasagna, garlic bread, beverage and dessert. Sofia Anthony announced the first Neighborhood Convention of the new year will be Tuesday, Jan. 2 at 11 a.m. Grace Episcopal Church in Vineyard Haven will be the site. Linda Wanamaker will talk about the Rising Tide equestrian program. Bring a sack lunch. All are invited.

Speaking of Grace Church, that is where I met Alden Besse so many years ago. What a great human being. Our loss. Condolences to his family.
