Good news. Plott hound mix Dewey is out on a trial and it looks like things are going well. Fingers crossed for a successful outcome.

We have a young male tuxedo cat that was picked up as a stray on Oklahoma avenue in Vineyard Haven. He has an adorable Salvador Dali moustache that’s white on one side and black on the other, and he also has a white blaze. We’re calling him George, and if you think George could be your missing cat please contact the shelter immediately since we know he would rather be home.

Winter, the young charcoal gray and white female tuxedo cat, has an adoption pending. She is a doll and adores being with people, so hopefully it will be a match made in heaven.

Our honey of a bunny, Mel, is still hoping to find his forever home soon. He’s a big white neutered male who is only a year old. He’s lop-eared, one ear stands up and the other flops down. Those ears and his eyes are brindle. Mel is friendly and enjoys attention. Stop in and meet him to see if you could be his valentine.

The monthly nail clinic will take place at the shelter this Saturday, Feb. 10 from 10 a.m. until noon. Come by and get a manicure/pedicure for your pet. The suggested donation is $15.

And lastly, if anyone needs any crates or pet food, please stop in to pick some up. We have an overabundance of both and are happy to share.

Shelter hours are Tuesdays and Wednesdays, 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Thursdays and Fridays, 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and Saturdays, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The shelter is closed Sunday and Monday. The telephone number is 508-627-8662.
