What an exciting Super Bowl. I think we are used to Tom Brady pulling a rabbit out of a hat. When we pulled ahead, even by one point, I started to feel better. Well, that did not last long! Very interesting game. By Monday morning we were all quarterbacking on our devices. The pain, the recriminations, the controversy over Malcolm Butler, the good wishes and congratulations to the Eagles, the bad temper of some Pats fans. Still, my favorite team. I love the way Gisele Bundchen explained to her kids that Daddy can’t win all the time. Wait till next year.

As Valentine’s day approaches our thoughts turn to flowers and food. Our Vineyard Haven Library is offering a free adults craft Saturday afternoon Learn to make filled chocolates! Ages 12 and up are welcome.

You can go from candymaking directly to a cooking class at the Vineyard Playhouse Saturday at 6 p.m. Seating is limited so please reserve your spot ahead of time, 508-693-6300.

Head back to our library on Tuesday night and let Bin Bin Yu of the Mikado Asian Bistro show you how to fix sushi. He will bring rolling mats and chopsticks. The class is free but limited so please call or visit the library online to reserve your spot. I have heard great things about Mikado Bistro. As of yet I have not tried it. But I shall be looking forward to stopping in.

Herb Ward told me the Federated Church in Edgartown is having a special study group from Feb. 14 until April 1. The sessions are free but a book needs to be assigned to each student. Please call 508-627-4421 to be included.

Our condolences go out to the family and friends of Lori Dorsey. Sister Corinne and her children, Toby and Maggie, are in need of our support.

The birthday bandwagon pulled along Marcia R. Wise on Feb. 6; Linda O’Leary celebrates on Feb. 14; And Mary Lee Waldron takes the cake on Feb. 16. Many happy returns.
